Situated at the western tip of Europe in a majestic location on the Estorial/Atlandtic coast, Lisbon truly is the political, economic and cultural centre of Portugal, and has recently been described as the new "it" girl of Western Europe. |

The NIRSC scheduled it's bi-annual study tour for members from Wednesday 20th - Sunday 24th April 2005. Shopping centres were almost everywhere in the city. Bigger or smaller, they'll do their best to suit your needs. We decided to list the bigger surfaces: Colombo, Vasco da Gama, Amoreiras and El Corte Ingles. These areas include several shops of different branches of business, including restaurants and leisure facilities like movie theatres.

Lisbon is a city that is over a thousand years old. Built on seven hills and mirrored by the Tagus River, it was once the captial of a mighty empire that spanned five continents. Point of departure in the Age of the discoveries, its seafaring people widened the world's horizons. Lisbon remains at the cross-roads of history and for many a city of choice.
